Websites for driving schools in Berlin
Your customers are seventeen and decide in the evening, on a phone, comparing you with two other driving schools in the neighbourhood.
Different from other trades
With a roofer, a recommendation usually decides. With a driving school, the search decides. Learners are young, they search on a phone and compare three schools within walking distance in a few minutes. Anyone who does not show up there is not in the running, however good the teaching is.
On top of that, the parents have a say and usually pay. They want to see numbers before anybody picks up the phone.
What belongs on the page
- The prices. Base fee, driving lesson, special drives, the test. Hiding prices does not make you look expensive, it makes you get skipped.
- The licence classes. B, B197, automatic, motorbike, trailer. Those are the words people search for.
- Theory lessons. Which days, what time, whether you can join mid-course, when the next one starts.
- Signing up. What to bring, eye test, passport photo, first aid course. This list saves you phone calls every single day.
- Where you are. The nearest stop, not just the address.
All of it on a phone, without zooming
When I look at driving school websites, the most common mistake is not how they look, it is that the price list is a PDF. A PDF on a phone means zoom, drag, give up. Prices belong on the page as text.
One point many people miss
For most of the Berlin driving schools I went through, the obvious domain name is still free. Your own name online costs around ten euros a year. That is worth doing even if the website itself comes later.
A driving school website needs no gallery and no video. It needs prices, dates and a phone number you can tap.
